House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes just set a hard deadline for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice to release documents related to the Russia investigation.
He didn’t just give them until April 11, he threatened to use the full power of Congress to sue both the FBI and DOJ for refusing to comply with the House of Representatives.
The California Republican sent a scathing letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray blistering them for refusing to comply with subpoenas he issued last month.
Here’s what part of the letter stated: (Via Fox News)
“On March 14th, 2018, Committee investigators were given access to a still heavily redacted version of the EC (FBI memo known as an electronic communication), which — as I informed Director Wray the next day via phone — was unsatisfactory.”
“On March 23, 2018, FBI’s Assistant Director for Legislative Affairs informed the Committee that FBI would refuse to further unredact the EC (FBI memo) based on its sensitivity. The document in question is not highly classified, and law enforcement sources have apparently not been shy about leaking to the press information that the Department and Bureau refuse to share with Congress.”
“You are hereby directed to produce to the Committee, by Wednesday April 11, 2018, an unredacted version of the EC.”
Users on social media were fired up over Nunes’ letter and threats to sue the FBI and DOJ if they do not comply with his probe:

I’ve noticed a considerable error in Devin Nunes letter demanding FBI documents on the Russia-Trump investigation.
It’s says “Honorable” Rod Rosenstein. Rosenstein “Honorable”?
Just grab some whiteout @DevinNunes & change it to “Horrible”. #Mueller #manafort #ThursdayThoughts pic.twitter.com/l3mSUt4tXf

During an interview on “The Laura Ingraham Show” last month, Nunes also told Ingraham that DOJ and FBI officials will be “hauled into Congress” to “answer publicly” about their involvement in the Russia investigation.
Nunes said anyone who refuses to answer his questions will be subpoenaed to testify before Congress about their role in the Trump-Russia probe.
It appears he is done waiting. Americans want action and to know why the phony Russia investigation was launched against President Donald Trump.
Not only did Nunes put the FBI and DOJ on notice, he threatened a legal battle if they refuse to comply.
