BOOM: South Carolina Republicans Introduce Bill To SECEDE Over Gun Rights

South Carolina state House Republicans introduced a bill that would allow the state to secede from the United States if the federal government begins seizing legally owned firearms.

The explosive new bill, which was referred to the South Carolina State House Judiciary Committee on April 5, is in response to far-left groups and lawmakers openly flirting with the idea of repealing the Second Amendment.

According to The Hill, the bill states:

Notwithstanding another provision of law, the General Assembly shall convene to consider whether to secede from the United States based upon the federal government’s unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms in this State.”

It’s in response to intense gun control debates following the deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida in February.

This is a big deal, and perhaps speaks volumes about how far some Republicans are willing to go to preserve the Second Amendment.

Many on social media weighed in on the measure:

U would c more than 13 states secede from the union if 2A was repealed. Not good for the liberals. Consider that just 2 of old south states refines 55% of national oil and accts for 60% of production. Plus they sit on the USA strategic oil reserves. Even more oil n gulf

As well it should! This is that serious of an issue. The right to bear arms is fundamental in this country. The movement to further infringe on that right when less than 1/5 of of gun criminals are legal gun owners. This is worth fighting for and secession is on the table.

Speaking more broadly, Democrats have spoken publicly about repealing the Second Amendment, which is a fundamental right given to every citizen.

Last week, Democratic National Committee vice chair for civic engagement and voter protection Karen Carter Peterson point blank called for the Second Amendment to be repealed.

The Second Amendment explicitly states citizens have the right to bear arms to defend themselves.

It’s important to understand Democrats like Peterson and the liberal Parkland students are not being mischaracterized — they are unequivocally flirting with the idea of infringing on Americans right to bear arms and defend themselves.

It’s unclear what happens with the bill in South Carolina and if other states will introduce similar measures, but many Americans are not pleased with the left’s movement to trample on the Constitution.
